Make a classic southern piece of furniture and spend a week learning in a real, down to earth woodworking shop.  Charles chooses this piece as a project because i has so many techniques in one piece and is not as difficult as it may appear.  You have tapered legs, dovetailed chest, applied moldings, dovetailed drawers, breadboard slide, locks, hinges and lifts, all wrapped up into one absolutely gorgeous and functional piece of furniture.  This class does require a basic knowledge of equipment and tools.

These classes are held M-F with Saturday optional.  Saturday is left open for additional review and/or questions you may have for Charles .  Classes start each day at 9am and end at 4:30pm;  lunch is provided on-site at the workshop.

An intense finishing course.  It is a MUST that you know how to finish before you begin a woodworking project.  Why?  Because all of your efforts of building a fine piece can be destroyed if you don't know how to put on a good finish.

Charles teaches you about techniques and products and how to get a desired finish.  He covers stains, dyes, paints, glazes, all sorts of bases, topcoats, etc.  You will experience hands-on application and when you leave you will know what to do, what to use and how to make it work for you, as a finisher.  Learn the proper sanding techniques and what to consider while you are building.

Again, an intense five day course but when you leave you will be confident in your ability to achieve a great finish on every woodworking project you do, no matter what it is.

These classes are held M-F with Saturday optional.  Saturday is left open for additional review and/or questions you may have for Charles .  Classes start each day at 9am and end at 4:30pm;  lunch is provided on-site at the workshop.
